Projektbeschreibung der*des Nominierenden
| Professor Pablo Jarillo-Herrero from MIT, Cambridge, MA, USA Professor Jarillo-Herrero is internationally well known for his outstanding research in condensed matter science. He discovered many novel quantum phenomena in two-dimensional materials and van der Waals heterostructures. His breakthrough discovery of superconducting and Mott-insulating states in magic-angle bilayer graphene constituted the beginning of the new field of correlated-electron physics in 2D Moiré superlattices. During his stay in Germany, he intends to explore the possibility to tune Moiré heterostructures with unprecedented precision. Professor Jarillo-Herrero is hosted by the MPI for Solid State Research and the University of Stuttgart. |
